Level II Course:

Becoming an Influential Advocate

Becoming an Influential Advocate is the advanced training for individuals who are ready to lead.

Learn how to communicate with legislators, build powerful coalitions, and inspire the next generation of leaders in the equal shared parenting movement.

Course starts August 16th

Are you ready to lead?

The most successful advocates don't just know the issues. They know how to move people.

They walk into a legislator's office and build trust. They bring rival organizations to the same table. They create the kind of culture that turns first-time volunteers into lifelong leaders.

Those aren't gifts you're born with. They're skills you can learn, and this is where you learn them.

Level II is built for individuals who are ready to take the next step: from knowing the fight to leading it.

  • This course is perfect for graduates of my beginner's training "An Insider's Guide to Equal Shared Parenting." However, taking that training is NOT a prerequisite.

  • Course Dates: Attend two 3-hour sessions on Zoom. Sessions will also be recorded.

    • Sunday, August 16th | 2-5pm CST

    • Sunday, August 23rd | 2-5pm CST

What this course covers

You've learned how legislation works.

Now learn how movements grow.

Communication

Deliver messages that persuade instead of polarize.

Build genuine credibility with legislators and policymakers, become a master networker at legislative events, and handle difficult conversations with confidence.

You'll grow into a stronger public speaker, a sharper media guest, and an advocate people listen to.

Collaboration

Accomplish more together than you ever could alone.

Build partnerships with organizations that share your goals, unite advocates across different personalities and perspectives, and align your issue with mega national organizations far beyond the shared parenting community.

Coalitions win what individuals can't.

Culture

Build something people want to be part of.

Create a positive, professional leadership culture that inspires volunteers instead of just managing them.

Build an environment people want to join — and stay in — while developing future leaders who multiply your impact for years to come.

Over two focused sessions, you'll learn how to:

  • Win the trust of legislators and policymakers — and keep it

  • Turn tense, high-stakes conversations into productive ones

  • Represent the movement with confidence on stage and in the media

  • Form alliances with organizations inside and outside our community

  • Bring strong personalities together toward a shared goal

  • Build a chapter or team that attracts volunteers and keeps them

  • Raise up new leaders who carry the mission forward

Meet Mark Ludwig

With more than 30 years of political experience, Mark has personally championed legislative reform in 31 states, contributing to the passage of 10 shared-parenting bills in 9 states.

After experiencing family court system challenges firsthand — including going nearly seven months without seeing his son — Mark dedicated himself to systemic reform. He now travels extensively, meeting with governors, state legislators, U.S. Representatives, and Senators to advocate a 50/50 rebuttable presumption for child custody when both parents are fit, willing, and able.
